Obituary for Mae Leach (Groves)

Mae Leach, 97, of Millstone, West Virginia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at the Miletree Center, in Spencer, West Virginia, where she had been a resident for six years.
She was born November 7, 1916, on Crummies Creek, Calhoun County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late George Washington Groves and Mamie Vankirk Groves. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Leach in 1985, and her great-granddaughter, Marissa Wagoner; three brothers, Earl, Burl, and Jurl Groves, and four sisters, Mona Parsons, Lona Marinkovich, Nellie Mollohan, and Ella Wallace.
Mae was a homemaker and a member of the Albert’s Chapel United Methodist Church at Sandridge.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Hatzell Wagoner of Big Bend and Patricia and Denver Little of Mineral Wells; four grandchildren, Kandas (Randal) Smith of Millstone, Christopher Wagoner of Big Bend, Jason (April) Wagoner of Williamstown and Christine Johnston of Mineral Wells; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Makayla Smith, Kaitlyn Wagoner, Anthony Johnston and Pamela Leggett; one great-great grandchild, Hunter Leggett; a brother, Thurl Groves of Ohio and a sister Gae Coyner of Hurricane.
Friends may call Sunday, March 23, 2014, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg. The funeral service will immediately follow at 3 p.m., with Reverend Rick Swearingen officiating and Bill Walton speaking.
Mae will be laid to rest in the Sycamore Baptist Church Cemetery at Mt. Zion.
