Obituary for Roy Parson
Roy Parsons, 81, of Five Forks, WV went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 17, 2014.
He was born May 23, 1933, a son of the late Harrison and Agelintine Parsons.
He was a veteran of the US Army, who served in the Korean War. He was a resident of Calhoun County and a member of Five Forks Community Church. Roy was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He loved his wife and family.
He is preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his brothers Jim, Homer, Berlin and George; his sisters, Julie, Ulie, Caroline, Letha, and Mary.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Edith Parsons; brother, Doy Parsons of Big Bend, WV; children, Anita McCumbers (Steve) of Orma, WV, Patricia McCumbers (Bill) of Five Forks, WV, Doy Ray Parsons (Barbara) of Big Springs, WV, Lettie Parsons of Big Springs, WV and Richard (Mary) Parsons of Creston, WV. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating. Interment will be in Hunt Cemetery, Big Bend, WV. Friends may express condolences at stumpfuneralhomes.com.
