Grace Y. Richards, 89, of Grantsville died December 16, 2016 surrounded by her family.
She was born December 20, 1926, a daughter of the late Elias and Ollie Kight Yoak. She was a graduate of Calhoun County High School and Glenville College. She was a retired teacher, having taught in Wood County.
Grace was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Calhoun County Library board for a number of years.
She is survived by one son, Stephen, his wife, Twila; one daughter, Marcia and her husband Dwain Stanley; three grandchildren, Stephanie, her husband, Jamie Ayers; Benjamin Stanley and his wife Sabrina; and Jessica Fowler; and great-grandchildren, Alexis, Kaylee, Emma, Lily, Landon, Austin, and Steven. Also surviving are sisters, Evadeen Kesler, Edna Robinson, and Hazel Tingler and her husband, Ray; brother, Robert Yoak; brother-in-law, Hobert Richards and his wife Alta Mae; sisters-in-law, Leona Yoak, Madeline Yoak, and Janet Richards; many nieces and nephews, one special niece, “Nurse Kaye” and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Richards, three brothers, Norman Yoak, Billie Joe Yoak, and Orville Ray Yoak, and one grandson, Ryan Richards.
A memorial service will be held at the Pleasant Hill UM Church in Grantsville on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rick Metheney and Rev. Carroll McCauley officiating. Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, is honored to assist the Richards family with the final arrangements of Grace.
