Obituary for Kathryn G. Wood (Settles)
Kathryn G. Wood, 47, of Chloe, WV, passed away on January 22, 2017.
Kathy was born in Akron, OH on July 3, 1969. On July 10th, 1997 she married her best friend Bill Wood. They moved to West Virginia in 2000 where she began a career in public service. She worked as the Director of Calhoun County OES/911 Center for over 10 years.
Kathy was a very passionate and hard working woman who left a mark on the community and everyone that crossed her path. She loved to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and expected nothing in return. Kathy's greatest joys in life were her family, friends, and vacations at the beach! She was especially fond of her grandchildren who were the center of her amazing life.
Kathy is preceded in death by her mother Mary Kathryn Ryan-Settles and her grandmother Mary H. Ryan.
Kathy is survived by her husband Bill, her children, Bryan (Talonne) Gungle, Sean Gungle, and Erika Wood. Her grandchildren Embree and Thorin Gungle. She also leaves behind her father and stepmother, George and Karen Settles, sister Mary Francis Waskiewicz, and brother George Settles.
A funeral service will be held Friday, January 27, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, WV. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service with Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.stumpfuneralhomes.com
