Obituary for Roger Dale Moore
Roger Moore, 68, of Orma, WV died Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Care Center, Piketon, Ohio, following stays at Cleveland Clinic and Cleveland Fairhill, both in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was born October 14, 1948, a son of the late Clyde and Katherine Abbott Moore of Looneyville, WV.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Ellison Moore, whom he married on July 24, 2003; brothers, Wayne Moore of Looneyville, WV and Steve (Freda) Moore; daughter, Jennifer Moore; granddaughter, Khloe Moore; mother-in-law, Bonnie Ellison of Orma, WV; step-son, Brian (Christy) Bailey; step-gransons, Christian and Austin Bailey; step-granddaughter, Morgan Bailey all of Knoxville, TN; step-daughter, Amy (Jackie) Watkins; step-grandson, Jacob Watkins, with whom he Roger shared his knowledge of animals and farming; brother-in-laws, Steve (Karen) Ellison and Clifford (Betty) Ellison all of Orma, WV; sister-in-law, Pam (Paul) Jones of Berea, KY; several nieces and nephews complete the family circle.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by daughter, Lisa Moore.
Roger was retired from Columbia Gas with 32 years of service as a compressor station operator, retiring in 2013. He belonged to Minnora Methodist Church. Also, he belonged to the Draft Horse and Mule Association for several years, enjoying the many wagon rides with family and friends. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home and Cremation, Inc., Arnoldsburg, WV on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in Ellison Family Cemetery, Orma, WV. Online condolences may be expressed at www.stumpfuneralhomes.com
