Obituary for Jean Shock (Wright)

Jean W. Shock, 93, of Mt. Zion and Aging with Grace, passed away on a Tuesday morning, October 24, 2017 at Miletree Center in Spencer, WV.
She was born March 15, 1924, near Grantsville, WV, a daughter of the late Auzie and Lennie Wright née Kimble. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Fredrick L Shock, and three sisters: Martha (m. Buck) Westfall; Ruth (m. Avis) Wright; and June (m. Larry) Miller.
Jean was retired from the United States Post Office in Grantsville. Jean was a member of Enon Baptist Church where she was active in the women’s group and taught Sunday school. She was a founding member of the hospital auxiliary and the Mt. Zion Community action. She was also a 4-H leader.
She is survived by her son Philip Mark Shock and daughter-in-law Linda Shock née Weaver, brother Herb Wright of East Tawas, MI, and three granddaughters: Lisa (m. David) Weaver of Berea, KY; Jennifer (m. Zachary) Chancey of Grantsville, WV; and Barbara (m. Whitney Kistler) Shock of Tazewell, TN; and great-granddaughter, Khloe Fox. Jean had many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2PM on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville. Family visiting hours are from 12-1PM. The family will receive friends from 1-2PM. The Rev. Richard Westfall will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.stumpfuneralhomes.com
