Rev. Borden Brady passed away peacefully into his Savior’s arms in the early hours of November 24, 2017. Born February 17, 1931 in Shock WV, he was the son of the late Bert and Josephine Brady. Also preceded in death are his siblings Blaine Brady, Bernard Brady, Blair Brady, Brock Brady, Beaulah Bailey and Barbara Sauer.
In addition to his parents and siblings, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Josephine Brady, who passed away on November 10, 1998 and granddaughter Mary Katherine Graham.
Borden was a graduate of Normantown High School and Davis and Elkins College. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952-1954. He started pastoring in the Evangelical United Brethren Church in 1959 and after the Methodist Church merged with Evangelical United Brethren Church in 1968 and became the United Methodist Church he continued to preach until 1993. He took pleasure in being blessed to conduct revivals over the entire state of West Virginia making many lifetime friends who enjoyed doing God’s work.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Sherry Brown of Willow Spring, NC, Kimberly J. Wilkins and husband Sam of Broadway, VA, Cindy Oster and husband Timothy of Fort Worth TX, Dawn Graham and husband James of Princeton WV, Randy Scott Brady of Mathias WV, and Tracy Robinson of Mathias WV. He is also survived by his sister Bernice, Mathias, WV and sister-in-law Carolyn Wallace of Portsmouth, OH.
Surviving grandchildren are Sharon Skates, Samuel Wilkins Jr., Kelly Wilkins, Joseph Wilkins, Katherine Jones, Jeremy Brown, Daniel Oster, Jessica Cogsdil, Sarah Graham, Jazmine Brady, Jordan Robinson, Ricky Robinson, Nathan Brady, Ethan Brady and Lincoln Brady.
Surviving great grandchildren are Jaden Skates, Gabrielle Skates, Corinn Skates, Matthew Wilkins, Levi Wilkins, Deandrea Wilkins, Bryan Coyle, Brady Jones, Kyan Jones, Kaden Jones, Emma Oster, Heath Oster, Olive and Nolan Cogsdil.
Visitation will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., in Arnoldsburg, WV on Thursday, November 30 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral is at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017 with Pastor Tim Oster officiating. Interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Rosedale WV. Online condolences may be expressed at www.stumpfuneralhomes.com
