Obituary for William Richard "Bill" Dillon

William Richard (Bill) Dillon, 78, of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, a loved husband, father, farmer and outdoorsman passed peacefully in to the eternal arms of God on November 21, 2016.

A native West Virginian, Bill was born in Calhoun County on September 15, 1938. After graduating from Grantsville High school, he served honorably in the United States Army. While assigned to military duty in the United Kingdom he met and married his soulmate, the former Ms. Judith Ann Hazell. After service, he worked as a team supervisor for Ohio Edison. Throughout life, Bill manifest a fondness for the hills of West Virginia, a love for the outdoors and a selflessness toward others. His days on earth were spent helping neighbors in need, fishing, hunting, and joyously tending to farm and family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son William Richard (Billy) Dillon Jr. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judith Ann Dillon; two daughters, Terry Luzader and Carmen Wilhite; and his sister Sue Ann Steel. He and family are blessed with four grandchildren, Blake, Arieile, Allyson and Trey and great grandson Landon.

A private gathering of family and friends will occur at a later date. In lieu flowers the family requests you consider a small donation in his name to the Roane County Animal Shelter, 2550 Parkersburg Rd., Spencer, WV 25276.
