She put in countless hours in the athletic boosters program at the middle school to ensure each and every child had exactly what they needed. She loved children and taking care of them. She touched the lives of many children in Calhoun County as they also held a special place in her heart.

Irona’s true pride and joy was her family and she made sure everyone knew that. Her family was her everything. She was also proud of her strong faith and love for our Lord and Savior. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.
Philippians 1:21-23
