Violet “Granny” Moore 98 of Leroy,WV stepped into eternity with her Lord and Saviour Thursday February 6, 2020.

“I HAVE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT, I HAVE FINISHED MY COURSE, I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH. HENCEFORTH THERE IS LAID UP FOR ME A CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, WHICH THE LORD, THE RIGHTEOUS JUDGE, SHALL GIVE ME AT THAT DAY: AND NOT TO ME ONLY, BUT UNTO ALL THEM ALSO THAT LOVE HIS APPEARING.” 2 TIMOTHY 4:7-8

Born May 23, 1921 to Jink and Nancy Starcher Tanner in Clay county. She married the love of her life Carles L. Moore on February 7, 1944. They shared 45 years before he passed through Heavens Gates to wait for her. Together, they had 2 sons, Stanley Dean (Donnie) Moore of Reedy and Randy (Beverly) Moore of Rittman, Ohio; 4 daughters, Wendy Haverty, Patsy Metheney of Leroy, Brenda (Brett) Marshall of Reedy and Beverly Armbrust of Wadsworth, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren with another expected soon; and 2 great-great-grandchildren with another expected soon. Also surviving are her sister Lynn Good and stepbrother Howard Barber.
Greeting her in heaven were a grandson Jason Slone, granddaughter Tabitha Haverty, great-grandson Silas Rhodes, brother Manuel Tanner, and sisters Mamie Metheney and Martha Moore.

Granny's door was always open. It was her genuine sweet spirit that made everyone feel welcome. Even on the worst days she could lift you up by surrounding you with a love like no other. So many happy memories were made at her kitchen table. She will never know the countless lives that were impacted by her patience, kindness, love and genuine compassion. She taught us that it wasn’t the expensive or fancy things, but rather the simple things that bring the most happiness in life. More importantly, she taught us about her eternal destiny. She knew that it is only by the blood of Jesus that we are saved. Romans 10:13 FOR WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.
