Obituary for Edgar Clay Knotts
Edgar Clay Knotts, 89, of Akron, Ohio passed away July 20, 2017.
He was the oldest son of Harley M. and Thelma Westfall Knotts, born September 18, 1927.
Born and raised in Minnora until the age of 15 when he left with his dad for Akron, Ohio to continue his education.
He served 3 years in the Air Force and went on to get a Bachelor of Arts degree teaching History in the Akron City Schools for 35 yrs. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife Nancy J. Knotts and oldest son Mark L. Knotts. Leaving surviving children Lynda(Michael) Antal, Lou Anne Swingle, Craig Knotts (Jimi Lin Tabor) and Lori (Charles) Wilson. He leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside ceremony will take place Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Minnora Cemetery. Stump Funeral Home and Cremation, Inc. of Arnoldsburg is handling the services for the Knotts family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.stumpfuneralhomes.com
